For those of you fumblefingers who can’t cook bacon. I know, it’s so hard, but that delcious perfectly cooked bacon may elude you no longer, my hamfisted friend!
Two nice ladies in San Fran selling cookies out of their second storey window in a nice neighbourhood like a couple of dope slingers. The oven pinger’s going, it’s the re-up!
Staying with sister this weekend and brought my minosharp knife sharpener with me so I could bring her knives back up to standard. Minosharp are associated with Global so give a very specific edge to knives. My sister’s knives are Wustoff, so the change of angle was significant to alter how the knives feel when chopping stuff.
Kick ass smoked haddock chowder, and because I never do anything quite as the recipe states, I used cream cheese instead of cream. http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/smokedhaddockchowder_85968
Cooking up a weekend stew. Lots of Mediterranean flavours in there: olives, chorizo, roasted peppers, add lentils and vegetable stock, simmer until the lentils are cooked, and pow! - it’s chow time.
I don’t get humpday blues, but if I did, this midweek roast would be the perfect cure.
Made soup. It’s onion, pepper, courgette, a tin of tomatoes, a red chilli, a good spoonful of kimchi, a chicken stock cube and a liberal amount of seasoning. A little splash of white vinegar to cut through the toms, and blended it to fine soup consistency.
I whipped up a quick fish pie this week, but as you can see my piping skills are more Junior Masterchef than Pro Masterchef. Although I did, however, put that mash through a fucking sieve. Move over Michel Roux Jr, there’s a new sheriff in… oh why do I bother?
